Description
Why Pfizer Hospira specifically?
Pfizer Hospira is the industry benchmark for bacteriostatic water. Manufactured in the US under cGMP standards, USP-compliant for sterility and purity, and used in clinical and research settings worldwide. We import directly from authorised Hospira distribution and ship every vial in its original Hospira seal. Never repackaged, never decanted, every batch traceable to its original manufacturing lot.
What is bacteriostatic water?
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water that contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. The benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth, which means the same vial can be punctured multiple times over an extended period without becoming contaminated. This makes it the standard diluent for reconstituting lyophilized peptides for research protocols that span multiple weeks.
Why not regular sterile water?
Regular sterile water for injection contains no preservative. Once you puncture the vial it must be used immediately or discarded. For weekly peptide protocols where you draw from the same reconstituted vial across many doses, bacteriostatic water is what keeps the contents sterile between draws.
